Assignment of IP

Assignment of IP is a contract clause that transfers ownership of specified intellectual property (e.g., inventions, patents, software, data rights) from WHOI and/or inventors to a corporate sponsor or partner. It may apply to foreground IP created under an industry-funded project and can include obligations to execute confirmatory assignments and support patent filing.
